HELICONIA BALISIER
Common name Balisier. Family Heliconiaceae (Heliconia family). Overview A hybrid growing up to 5' to 12' tall, that blooms all year. Bracts: 8 - 22 (red over most of bracts, usually with a narrow green lip, on some) Rachis: dark to light red. Hardiness USDA zone 9B - 11. Propagation Rhizomes. Culture Needs full sun to 30%; protect from low temperature; flowers after 12 months. Can be kept indoors in a large container outdoors or in the green house. |
