PEPEROMIA ROTUNDIFOLIA - CREEPING PEPEROMIA. Synonym Peperomia prostata. Common name Creeping peperomia, creeping buttons, royal velvet plant, yerba linda. Family Piperaceae (Pepper family). Overview A creeping perennial from tropical South America, it grows up to 6" tall. A small fleshy epiphyte with very fine stems growing between moss on trees and branches. The leaves, almost round, about ½" in diameter, are darkgreen on the upside and underneath almost white. Hardiness USDA zone 9 B - 11. Propagation Seeds and cuttings. Culture Full shade, moist soil. Plant in frost free areas. Great as an ornamental plant indoors in a hanging basket. Place the basket in a shady spot. |
